1990 Ferrari F40
Red with Red, 3,000 miles from new, Collector owned, Superb throughout.
Completed in July 1990, this F40 is one of just 213 USA examples. Originally delivered to the East Coast, the Ferrari was sold new to famed New Jersey collector Richard Slobodian, whose stable included a 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder as well as many other fine thoroughbred motorcars. During his ownership this F40 was serviced with Ferrari dealer Wide World of Cars.
In August 1994, another well-known and extremely respected Ferrari collector, Benny Caiola, traded his 1990 Ferrari Testarossa and 1972 Ferrari Daytona to Wide World of Cars for the opportunity to acquire this, the last Ferrari supercar of the Enzo era.
Since in the ownership of the Caiola collection, this F40 has led a pampered life (he had three-this being the street car!) and has always been treated with great care. Always serviced by Wide World of Cars, this F40 received its scheduled maintenance in February 2009. Since this time it has covered just four additional miles and remains in fabulous condition.
Unlike many examples, there is not a single aspect of this F40 that detracts from the overall impression of a well-kept car that has spent the past two decades in the hands of two passionate and knowledgeable Ferrari collectors. In addition to the original tool pouches, this F40 is offered with various sales, service and ownership records.
Rapidly approaching its 25th anniversary, the F40 has attracted the attention of forward-thinking collectors in search of the next generation of blue-chip automobiles. The qualities sought after in a classic Ferrari – rarity, condition, authenticity, provenance and historical significance – are abundant in this exceptional F40 and speak to its desirability.
This F40 is one of the best we have owned. This F40 is immaculate in all respects with all books, tools and records as originally delivered from the factory.
