Sellers original description:
Outstanding 1956 Chevrolet 3100 Custom pickup. This truck has just undergone a major restoration, and is in beautiful condition throughout.
The completely rust-free body features tasteful subtle period-correct custom touches including shaved nose and deck panels, custom smoothed tailgate panel, shaved gas filler neck, ’56 Buick fender trim, blue dot tail lamp lenses, rocket headlamp trim, and more.
The Chevy has been treated to a complete $8,000.00+ high-end comprehensive paint refinish inside and out in two-stage urethane Tropical Turquoise and Ivory paint. All the front sheet metal was removed from the truck and painted inside and out for a super-sanitary custom under-hood appearance. The doors, bed, rear fenders, tail gate, interior, chrome, glass, etc. were all removed to obtain the best possible paint outcome. All the body fasteners and rubber body bumpers were replaced as the panels were reassembled. This is a top-shelf job that has been wet-sanded, machine cut, machine polished, and hand glazed to a mirror finish... a very nice paint job. Tropical Turquoise is a beautiful original '56 paint color that appears as more green in the light, and a bit more blue in the shade, as you can see in the pictures.
The truck is well-powered by a freshly built Chevy 350 featuring a balanced 4-bolt mains bottom end, streetable 9.5-1 compression ratio, and reworked Vortec high flow cylinder heads. The camshaft is a lopey, aggressive-yet-streetable hydraulic unit, breathing through an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor atop an Edelbrock high-rise aluminum intake. An HEI high-energy distributor handles the sparking duty, while full equal-length Hooker Competition headers dump the exhaust through a new full dual exhaust system. A B&M ratchet shifter controls the rebuilt Turbo 400 transmission with shift kit, moving approximately 370 horsepower back to the 10-bolt rear end housing 3.42 gears.
A full Camaro sub frame including independent front suspension, power steering, and disc brakes resides out front, and lowers the truck to an appropriately aggressive ride height. Brand-new American Racing Salt Flat retro wheels wear new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires (275/50 rear, 245/60 front), putting the power to the pavement.
The truck bed features a fuel cell hidden in a diamond-plate flush utility box, diamond-plate bed floor, and matching bed side trim. A Tonneau cover and strut kit cover the bed for a sleek finished look.
The interior is every bit as nice as the exterior, and features auxiliary gauges to monitor engine water temperature, oil pressure, and revolutions. The interior was completely stripped, prepped, and refinished in matching two-tone Tropical Turquoise and Ivory. The carpet kit is new, as is the custom two-tone Black and Ivory upholstery with tuck-and-roll inserts and matching headliner. A contemporary am/fm/cd deck and behind-seat speakers provides the music when you want it.
The weather stripping, fasteners, body bumpers, window wipers, visors, bezels, heater controls, etc. have all been replaced as well. The truck is outstanding throughout.
She drives as well as she looks with power steering and power brakes. The glass has been replaced, along with a full window and door weather-strip kit.
The chrome grill and bumpers are also new, as well as the headlamp bucket trim, rear turn signal housings, lenses, side step plates, etc. The truck basically appears as-new from front to back.
All the fluids and filters are new, the engine is freshly tuned, and the alternator, battery, radiator, water pump, belts, and hoses have all been replaced for reliability.
This is a turnkey rig that will take you back in time to when the living was easy, the gas cheap, and the nights long and warm. This truck is beautiful and done right; she'll make someone very happy.
