Sellers original description:
A very special 1911 Mitchell which is the only custom bodied Mitchell Landaulet to exist. The landaulet is a towncar but the whole rear roof over rear seat area folds down. The car comes from the estate of a prominent collector who bought it 20 years ago through an English dealer. Prior to that it was in the US. The originality and quality of this car are amazing. The body obviously was very special with many beautiful details. All of the mahagony trimmed windows fold down both front and side and the car becomes a complete open air car. The hardware and window mechanisms and coachwork design are of the highest quality. The body, windshield and lamps are trimmed in glistening brass. The Mahagony windsreen opens and is of amazing detail.
This would make a great Horseless carriage tour car or could be on the lawn at any concour D`elegance event because of the one off coachwork. It is rare to find custom coachwork brass era cars. The engine itself is a mechanical masterpiece. The car drives with ease at 45- 50 MPH.
